Lewis and Clark Discovery Initiative

The MU Parents Association (MUPA) supports the sale of $350 million in assets by the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (MOHELA) to provide critically needed funding for the capital improvements specified in the Lewis and Clark Discovery Initiative for MU and other higher education institutions in the state. We encourage the Missouri General Assembly to act swiftly to pass this legislation in the 2007 session and to include an emergency clause so that funding can begin to flow to the institutions as soon as possible for these facilities.

The Board of Directors of the MU Parents Association (MUPA) endorses this measure and encourages its 4,100-plus member families to contact state lawmakers to seek support.
