Communication Link with the University

MUPA serves as a communication link between parents and the University. The board of directors meets with campus officials to discuss campus issues and projects. The information presented is shared with members through the Mizzou Family and ParentAlert newsletters. The board has met with some of the top ranking school administrators.

Financial Support for the University

MUPA provides financial contributions to various campus departments and organizations. For example, the MUPA honored the University's commitment to values by erecting a bronze plaque of the Statement of Values on the quadrangle. Teleconferencing equipment was purchased for a classroom in the Black Culture Center to enhance communication and classroom technologies. This past three years, the MUPA approved nearly $56,000 grands supporting varies student organizations.

Recruiting

MUPA assists in recruiting high quality students and promoting the University in cooperation with the Department of Admissions and other departments at events such as Scholar's Night and Preview MU.

Student Recognition

MUPA annually recognizes an outstanding community advisor (CA), peer advisor (PA), and teaching assistant (TA) for their positive impacts on the lives of MU students.

Faculty Recognition

MUPA recognizes and rewards excellence by providing $100 stipends to each of the ten Excellence in Education award winners.
